It’s been a chilling year so far for web and mobile security. Cybercriminals continue to think of clever and sneaky ways to strip millions of consumers of credit card information and personal data, thanks largely in part to malicious links, phishing scams and password hacks.

The team at cybercrime prevention company ThreatMetrix has put together an infographic detailing the top 10 spookiest cyberattacks of the year so far. And with big names such as Zappos, Amazon, LinkedIn and Android gracing the list, there’s a good chance you or someone you know has fallen victim to a security breach.

“With threats looming everywhere from banks and web browsers to online dating and social networking sites, this list is sure to leave you with goosebumps,” the company says.

Security-testing company Veracode has assembled an infographic filled with interesting stats about the rise of data breaches and what it could mean for businesses and consumers.

There’s no denying that people love their gadgets. In fact, the smartphone market grew 42% from 2010 to 2011, and manufacturers have sold 40 million tablets over the past two years. Not to mention the 1 billion — yes, billion — mobile devices expected to be activated by the end of the year and a total of 40 billion apps downloaded on them.

As these numbers rise, so does interest from cyber criminals looking to obtain sensitive data. About 59% of organizations have experienced an increase in malware due to insecure mobile devices, and many of which stem from apps.
