Around 113 smartphones are stolen or lost each minute in the U.S., but there’s one city in which they are pilfered more than any other: Philadelphia.
According to data highlighted in an infographic by gadget-insurance company Protect Your Bubble, smartphone theft is most likely to occur in Philly, followed by Seattle and Oakland, respectively. Rounding out the top ten are (in order of placement) are: Long Beach, Calif., Newark, N.J., Detroit, Cleveland, Baltimore, New York and Boston.
Meanwhile, the top places to lose a phone are at fast-food restaurants, drug stores, grocery stores, coffee shops and the office, respectively.
The infographic also reveals more about smartphone theft in various city. For example, phone thefts make up 40% of all robberies in New York City, and iPhones account for 70% of cell phones stolen on public transportation, such as subways and buses.
